YCares - Financial Assistance

If you’ve been thinking that you can’t afford to be part of the ymca, think again! At our YMCA, we welcome everyone’s involvement by providing financial assistance through our YCares Financial Assistance Program. It’s an important part of our mission.

How do I apply?
Download YCares Financial Assistance Application. Complete this application, attach the necessary documentation and return it to the YMCA. All applications are kept strictly confidential.

How is the amount of financial assistance determined?
Your YMCA’s Membership Director will review your financial information and, based on a sliding fee scale, determine the amount of assistance that will be offered to you. You will receive a letter regarding your assistance within one week of the YMCA receiving your application.

Where do the funds for financial assistance come from?
This program is funded through our Annual Scholarship campaign and through the United Way.

We are committed to this simple policy: No one will be turned away for their inability to pay for YMCA programs, camps or memberships.

Please complete the YCares application and return to your local YMCASouthcoast branch in Dartmouth, Fall River, Mattapoisett, New Bedford or Wareham. One month and three month memberships are available for adults and may be applied to an annual membership if done within 30 days. One month trial membership may only be purchased one time per calendar year.  Inquire at the front desk on rates for these special memberships.

Blue Cross/Blue Shield Member, Fallon Health & Harvard Pilgrim Health Rewards Program

You may be eligible to receive up to $150.00 back on your membership. Please check with your insurance carrier to see if you qualify.

Away Program (Always Welcome at the YMCA)

When you travel and want to work out, or use the services at a YMCA in another city, you may do so on a short-term basis.  Visiting YMCA members from 50 miles away or farther are always welcome by showing their membership card.  Stop by our front desk to ask more about the YMCA AWAY program.

MY Y is Every Y

Your YMCA Southcoast membership is valid and may be used at any other YMCA facility in Massachusetts or Rhode Island. Have a conference in Worcester? Bring your running shoes. Visiting family in Barrington? Take along your yoga mat.

We are committed to helping you stay active and healthy by making sure there is a YMCA wherever you are.

It's true. YMCA members from Massachusetts and Rhode Island are welcome, free, at YMCAs in either state simply by presenting their current YMCA ID card.
