This Summer's Theme Weeks

A glimpse of what is to come this summer! Traditional camp has a new theme for every week. If you want to plan ahead while packing for the summer this should be of some help. There is also still space available in most weeks. So if you see something interesting sign up now!

Session A:   Camp Spirit Week 
This week will be punctuated by contests to see which groups show the most Camp Spirit!

Monday: Crazy Hat Day 
Bring one from home or make one at camp.

Tuesday: Clone your Counselor Day
Dress, do your hair, talk and walk just like your counselor.

Wednesday:  Inside out and Backwards Day
Everything will be inside out or backwards today.

Thurday: Twin Day 
Plan to dress, do your hair, and walk so that you match one of your camp friends.

Friday: Core Value Color Day
Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow are our Core Value Colors. Get your whole group to dress in color.

Session B:  Holiday Week
We will end this week with our traditional Halloween Party – Costumes, Games, and Trick or Treating!

Monday:  New Year's
Bring your noisemakers and glittery 2007 sunglasses!

Tuesday: Fourth of July – Red White and Blue!
We are going to practice our oo’s and ahh’s to be ready for the real thing on Wednesday.

Wednesday:  NO CAMP

Thurday:  St. Patrick’s Day
Green is the color of the day. With a little luck we may catch a leprechaun!

Friday: Halloween
Come in costume or make a mask. 
         

Session C:   Wild West Week

Music, dancing, games, lassoing, gold, and tracking make this week a little history rolled up in a lot of fun!

Monday:  Gold Rush Day 
We'll be on the hunt for lots of loot.

Tuesday:  Cowboy Day 
Brush off those Cowboy boots, hats and bandannas

Wednesday:  Native American Day
Please be respectful in your choice of dress.

Thursday:  Pioneer Day
Aprons and bonnets for the girls, hats and work clothes for the boys.

Friday:  Hoe Down Day
Come prepared to party "Settler Style."

 

Session D:   Water Week

We are surrounded by water here in Wareham so we are going to take a week to explore it!

Monday: Ocean Day – Octopus, Coral Reefs, and Tropical Fish

Tuesday: Island Day – Come in your Island wear, Hawaii or Martha’s Vineyard it is up to you.

Wednesday: Pondlife Day – Frogs, Fish, Ducks and Turtles

Thursday: Weather Day – Rain and Snow

Fri: Water Carnival – Don’t be afraid to get wet!

Session E: Olympics

Camp will be divided into teams each representing one of our Core Value Colors. Campers will have the opportunity to compete, but more importantly to show their TEAM SPIRIT!

Monday:   Running Events
Tuesday:   Field Events
Wednesday: Water Events
Thurday:  Unusual Sporting Events
Friday:  Team Events

 

Session F: Pirate Week
Beware ye Land-lubbers! This is a week for the most seaworthy pirates. AARGH!

Monday:   The Forming of the Crew
Tuesday:   Dress your Captain – Bring in anything to help your Captain (Counselor) to win the costume award at flag
Wednesday:   Name your Treasure
Thursday:   Pirate Fashion Show – Come in your best Pirate outfit
Friday:   Treasure Hunt – Hope you paid attention in map class!

Session G:   Nature Week

There are no set daily themes this week. Instead, we will spend some of each day looking at nature close up and learning some basic survival skills. This week you can look forward to nature hikes, map reading, exploring the inhabitants of lakes and streams, building fires, and the ever popular game of Predator/Prey!

Session H: International Week

Wow what a trip, 5 continents in 5 days! Fill your passport with games, art and activities from around the world.

Monday: Europe – Wear something that represents any country in Europe

Tuesday: Africa - Wear something that represents any country in Africa

Wednesday: Asia - Wear something that represents any country in Asia

Thursday: Australia - Wear something that represents Australia

Friday: North and South America - Wear something that represents any country in the Americas

Session I: Circus Carnival 

Let’s end the summer in style. We will spend the week practicing our circus acts and preparing for Friday’s Carnival!

Monday: Clown School – Bring out the baggy pants, floppy shoes and big red nose

Tuesday: Circus Sideshow – Come prepared to dress your counselor like one of the sideshow acts.

Wednesday: Carnival Parade – Wear brightly colored clothes and bring a fun mask or make one here

Thursday: Circus Show – Today we perform under the big top

Friday: End of Camp Carnival!
