YMCA SOUTHCOAST
Give

Rochester

YMCA Southcoast acquired this 30-acre pristine woodland property on Snow’s Pond Road, Rochester, MA in a land transfer from the Unitarian Universalist Society of Fairhaven in May of 2005.  Long term plans have yet to be developed but the woodlands and ecologically sensitive areas adjacent to the Mattapoisett River and Snipatuit Pond will be preserved by YMCA Southcoast.  A conservation restriction will be placed on 80% of the property leaving approximately six acres to be developed with pavilions and buildings necessary to support programming at the site.  The wishes of the original donor, Mr. Clifton Hacker, to preserve the site as a youth camp will also be honored.  A day camp will be part of the future project which may also include youth and family programs, team building programs for youth and adults, and environmental education.
